Dear CORLAS Members, dear colleagues and friends,
It is a profound honour to welcome you to the 100th edition of the Collegium Oto‑Rhino‑Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum (CORLAS) in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Since its founding in 1926, the Collegium has grown into a unique international community built on scientific excellence, collegial friendship, and the conviction that collaboration across borders strengthens both our profession and the world we serve. Reaching the moment it was founded 100 years ago, this centennial meeting marks not only a historical milestone, but also a celebration of the enduring spirit that has guided CORLAS for a century.
As we celebrate the 100th CORLAS meeting, we reaffirm the values that have shaped the collegium for generations. CORLAS has long provided an intimate forum for exchanging cutting‑edge scientific insights, cultivating lasting professional relationships, and promoting international understandings and collaborations. This meeting continues that tradition with a prominent scientific program and opportunities for cultural enrichment and collegial connection — qualities that have defined our gatherings for a century. This means we will step into the next 100 years to make the collegium even more vibrant.
This year, we are delighted to welcoming you again in Groningen, The Netherlands, from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 August 2026. Groningen is a place where history and innovation meet, offering scenic streets, hidden courtyards, modern museums, and unexpected works of art woven into the urban landscape. During our Welcome Reception on Sunday evening August 23rd you are most welcome in the Academic Building to visit the exact same room in which the collegium was founded. The conference itself is hosted in the historic Stadsschouwburg Groningen, a cultural landmark located in the heart of the city. With our family tour we will embark the remarkable natural expanses of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage region at Schiermonnikoog. Accompanying persons can explore iconic highlights such as the Martinitoren, the Groninger Museum, and some special site visits to Giethoorn (‘Venice of the North’) and Westerbork. During the post-congress tour we will explore the beautiful province of Friesland and will end in Amsterdam, which hosts world-famous cultural highlights.
May this centennial meeting inspire new collaborations, deepen friendships and honour the legacy of those who built CORLAS before us in Groningen, the Netherlands.
We and the Dutch CORLAS members invite you with great appreciation to join us and take full part in everything this special edition has to offer, at the CORLAS 2026!
Warm regards,
Myrthe Hol & Pim van Dijk
(President) & (Vice-president)
