Family tour programme

Pre-conference family tour to Schiermonnikoog  

On Sunday, 23 August, we will organize the Family Tour to Schiermonnikoog.

We have planned a wonderful day to explore this beautiful so called Wadden island, enjoy the fresh sea air and experience one of the Netherlands’ most unique destinations.

We will depart from the Stadsschouwburg Groningen at 09:00 AM by coach to the harbor of Lauwersoog. Please make sure to arrive on time; registration and boarding will begin at 08:30 AM.

 During the coach journey of approximately an hour, a guide will share interesting facts and stories about Groningen and the surrounding region.

Upon arrival at the harbor, we will take a special ferry to Schiermonnikoog, this boattrip will take about 45 minutes.  When we arrive on the island, we will be able to explore nature in different ways in this way enabling all members and all family members to enjoy this day. It is small island where no cars are allowed; most people walk or drive bikes. For longer distances a special bus will be available. After a nice lunch at the beach we will offer a variety of activities.

At approximately 3:30 PM, we will board the ferry back to Lauwersoog, where the coach will be waiting to take us back to Groningen.
